How DMVPeek Collects and Verifies Its Data
Published · 4 min read · Transparency
Sources
Every fee, requirement, and office address on DMVPeek is sourced from publicly available information published by the official state motor vehicle department. We do not use commercial data brokers or scraped content.
Update cycle
The full database is reviewed quarterly. Individual entries are updated whenever a state DMV announces a fee change or rule change. Each page shows the year of the source data.
Quality checks
For each state, we cross-reference at least two pieces of evidence: the official DMV fee schedule and either a state code citation or a recent news report about fee changes. Discrepancies are flagged and resolved before publication.
Limitations and disclaimer
DMVPeek is an independent information resource. We are not affiliated with any state government agency. Fees and requirements change without notice, and county-level surcharges may add to the totals shown. Always verify with the official state DMV website (linked on every page) before making travel or financial decisions based on our data.
The DMVPeek editorial team aggregates and verifies fee schedules, requirements, and office data from all 51 US state motor vehicle departments. Every statistic on this site is cross-referenced against the official agency website before publication, with quarterly re-verification cycles.
